Process Involved for Concrete Building
Our company deals with clients who have a liking for these three types.
1. T-Shaped
These foundations are made to suit our customers who reside in cold areas where the ground freezes. We first place the footing, then the walls are constructed, concrete poured and lastly the slab is placed.
2. Slab-on-grade
We construct these types of foundations for areas where the ground does not freeze. For this type, we make the edges thicker than the interior of the slab where we pour it all at once.
3. Frost-protected
This is used with a heated structure and has the added advantages as those of the slab on grade type in areas subjected to frost. It is also poured all at once.
The process involved in making these concrete foundations takes three to five weeks after which our work is completely done to perfection. In the first week, ground breaking and excavating takes place.
In the second week, we dig the footings, set the rebars, carry out an inspection and finally pour the footings.
In the third week, we install the polystyrene blocks for pouring insulated stem walls and the stems are poured.
Fourth week, we prep the ground for the slab, we run plumbing pipes under the ground and radiant heating being considered by use of plastic tubing and the slab is poured. In the final week, we clean up the site and do the grading.
All this is carried out in accordance to our client’s specifications.
